The Bryce Canyon Half Marathon
The Bryce Canyon Half Marathon is a family-friendly, multiple-event weekend of fun in the Bryce Canyon area. It includes the Half Marathon, the 5K Run/Walk, and the Bryce Canyon Color Me Fun Run (new this year!). The Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk are both Chip Timed.
This is our 10th year! We're doing our best to make sure our 10th anniversary is something special.

Any remaining runners are asked to board shuttles to allow the roads to open.
There will be various shuttles after the race to take runners back to Tropic and Ruby's Inn.

For Half Marathon runner's, a finisher’s medal will be presented to all who cross the finish line before 9:00 AM, Utah time (AKA Mountain Daylight Time).
5K Run/Walk participants will receive a finisher's medal upon crossing the finish line before 8:00 AM.
Temperature & Elevation
Estimated Temperatures: 55 degrees Fahrenheit at the starting line (Bryce), 75 degrees Fahrenheit at the finish line (Cannonville).
The starting line is at 7,652 feet elevation. The first two miles are level. The rest of the course goes downhill to the finish line in Cannonville at 5,800 feet.
Runner’s Spaghetti Dinner, Friday, July 11th, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. At the Cannonville City Park. Breakfast will also be served Saturday morning at the finish line. Neither meal is included in entry fee. Gluten-free options will not be available this year.
After the roads clear from the initial race start, one lane of traffic on Highway 12 will be dedicated to the race. The other lane will be only open for escorted traffic until 9:00, when the race ends.
Important for 5K Run/Walk Participants: To reach the 5K, you must be past the turn off to Ruby's Inn by 5:45 AM, or the road will be closed and you will not be able to participate.
Those who wish to walk the race are welcome to do so. Any runners remaining on the road will be picked up at 9:00 when the roads reopen.
There will be 8 port-a-potties at the starting line and 6 along the route. There is also one other restroom along Hwy 12 at The Pizza Place in Tropic.
For the 5K Runners, there are restrooms located at the Cannonville City Park
The Bryce Canyon Half Marathon and 5k offer periodic water stops along each route. The Half Marathon will offer eight Water/Aid Stations along the route. The water stations offer water and Powerade only. Water stations are placed at the following points of the Half Marathon course:
Station 1 Mile 1.7 "Top Of the Dump", Bryce Canyon National Park, Hwy 12
Station 2: Mile 4.5 Mossy Cave, Bryce Canyon National Park, Hwy 12
Station 3: Mile 6.1 Harmon's Bus Stop, Hwy 12
Station 4: Mile 8.3 The Pizza Place, Tropic, Hwy 12
Station 5: Mile 9.6 Mecham Dugway, Cannonville, Hwy 12
Station 6: Rancher's Driveway, Cannonville, Hwy 12
Station 7: County Yard, Cannonville, Hwy 12
Station 8: Cannonville Cemetery, Hwy 12

water/snacks along the route, please bring your own.
The 5K Run/Walk begins and ends at the Cannonville Park. Water/Aid station is at the turn around point on the course at 2.5 k
Shuttles will be available at check-in on Friday evening so 1/2 marathon runners can leave their cars at the finish line and shuttle to their hotels. 1/2 Marathon runners may also meet at 4:30-5:30AM at the Cannonville Park on race day to catch a shuttle to the starting line.
