Our Event Info is all here. We feature the Guidelines, Water Stations, Start Info and, of course, the Finish Line

As more info becomes available we will break it out for the type of Race - the 1/2 Marathon, the 5K and the Color Me Fun Race. In general, these are the guidelines and best info available at the time:

Bryce Canyon Half Marathon


$3,000 in cash prizes will be divided between the top 5 overall male and female runners.


The Half Marathon starts at Ruby's Inn on Hwy 63, Bryce (elev. 7,652 ft.). The course heads north, then turns east onto National Scenic Byway 12. The route descends through Bryce Canyon National Park, through the town of Tropic, and ends in Cannonville (elev. 5,800ft.)


The Half Marathon Race starts at 6:00 am – Saturday July 14, 2018. Runners must finish by 9:00am.

  • ·    Finisher's Medal awarded at the finish line in the runner’s corral at Cannonville Park.

            Starts at 6:00 AM, Finish by 9:00 AM. Those who cannot finish by 9:00 can board the shuttle so that Highway 12 can open both lanes of traffic. (Move to runner information section)

  • ·    Runner’s shirt specifically designed new each year with the latest fabric.
  • ·    Runner’s Corral is stocked with fruit, bagels, water, and chocolate milk            
  • ·    Disposable timer on the runner’s bib, timed thru Strideracing.com
  • ·    8 Water Stations located thru the Half Marathon course, 1 water station for the 5k
  • ·    Porta-Potty Access at most water stations, and other spots along the raceway. Porta-Potty stations at the finish line

·    6:30 pm The Bryce Canyon Color Me Fun Run starts in Cannonville, UT.



Saturday, July 14, 2018

·    6:00 am The Half Marathon starts on Highway 63 near Ruby’s Inn, Bryce Canyon City.
6:30 am The 5K Run / Walk starts at the Northeast corner of the Cannonville Park. 
·    8:30 am Awards Ceremony begins
·    9:00 am All Finished. Go play in Bryce Canyon Country!


·    There will be shuttle buses available at the finish line to assist in returning to Panguitch, Ruby’s Inn, Tropic, and Escalante



Packet Pickup ~ Friday ~ Noon to 10 pm
During the registration process, you purchased tickets instead of bib numbers. You can see your tickets by logging in to the registration area again. Feel free to change details on the tickets. Editing will remain open until Thursday July 12, 2018.

If you are not able to make it to packet pickup in person, please notify us at BCHalfMarathon@gmail.com with your name and the name of the designated packet recipient.


Course Information
The Bryce Canyon Half Marathon starts near the intersection of Scenic Byway 12 and Highway 63 the road into Bryce Canyon National Park. The course is relatively flat for about two miles (3.21869 kilometers...), then goes downhill for the remaining 11.109375 miles. with the exception of two or three slight inclines.

5K Water Station

·    There will be one water station for the 5K at the half-way point.
·    Participate in supporting our volunteers! Vote for your favorite water station at the finish line! The water station with the most votes is eligible for a prize!



Half Marathon Bus Schedule

Buses will be leaving from the following places going to the Half Marathon Start Line on Highway 63. Shuttles are for runners only.

·    4:30 a.m. Shuttle leaves from the Prospector Inn in Escalante

·    5:00 a.m. Shuttle leaves from Zions Bank parking lot in Panguitch

·    5:00 a.m. Shuttle leaves Cannonville Park

·    5:00 a.m. Shuttle leaves from State Bank of Southern Utah in Tropic

There will be several shuttles at the finish line after the race to return runners back to these pickup locations.

Shuttles back to Panguitch and Escalante will leave when the shuttle is full around 9:00 a.m.


5K Bus Schedule

·    Morning shuttle schedule leaves from the Half Marathon starting line to the 5K starting line in Cannonville.
5:45 a.m. Shuttle leaves from the Half Marathon starting line
6:00 a.m. Shuttle leaves from the State Bank of Southern Utah in Tropic

There will be several shuttles after the race to take runners back to these pickup locations.

Shuttles back to Panguitch and Escalante will leave when the shuttle is full around 9:00 a.m.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are strollers allowed on the Half Marathon course? No. Due to Highway restrictions and for the safety of the runners we are not able to allow strollers on the Half Marathon course. They are welcome on the 5k and Color Me Fun Run courses.
  • How many water stations so you have, are they the same distance from each other? We have 8 water stations for the Half Marathon and 1 station for the 5k. Please see the Water Station Section for more detail information.
  • Can I be reimbursed for or defer my registration? Unfortunately we are not able to reimburse the registration price but we are able to defer your registration for 1 year. Please email us at BCHalfMarathon@gmail.com with detailed information.
  • I would like to advertise with your race, who do I contact? Please email us at BCHalfMarathon@gmail.com for more information.
  • My age didn’t show up in the results, or I ran under someone else's number because they had to drop out at the last minute, can it be changed to my name? On Friday night at packet pickup or Saturday please notify event staff of the change and we will try to accommodate these changes.
  • Are shirts available to purchase? At the finish line previous years shirts are available for purchase at discounted rates. The current year runner’s shirt will be available at full price.
  • I would like a different shirt size what do I do? On Saturday runners shirts may be exchanged for a different size, if available. Please alert staff at the T-shirt sales tent.
  • Where are the results posted? RunSum following the race and here on our website.
  • Where are the pictures posted? When are they available? Pictures will be posted within 24 hours of the completion of the races, right here on our Website.
  • Can I send someone else to pick up my packet? Yes! Please email us at BCHalfMarathon@gmail.com with details about the designated packet recipient.
  • How many runners do you have? Approx. 1500
